A Dignified Farewell, Down to Every Detail

The way a funeral looks and feels stays with a family for years. That’s why we invest in the details many people only notice when they’re missing.

Our Luxury Vehicle Fleet

Arriving with dignity matters. Our fleet includes a range of well-kept vehicles from Porsche, Kia, Toyota, Ford and Chrysler, as well as our luxurious Mercedes-Benz R-Class and ML-Class vehicles.

Whether you need a hearse, family cars or transport for a larger procession, we’ll match the vehicles to your service and your budget. Every vehicle is clean, presentable and driven by professional staff who understand the importance of the day.

Up-Market Setups

Our funeral preparations and setups are among the finest you’ll find. We offer a classy, professional setup for every service, at burial sites, cemeteries and memorial venues.

That can include:

  • Elegant tents, draping and seating
  • Floral arrangements and décor
  • Photo displays and tribute tables
  • Neat, well-organised graveside arrangements
  • Thoughtful touches that reflect your loved one’s personality

You don’t need a large budget to receive a beautiful setup. We believe every family deserves a farewell that looks and feels dignified.

Modern, Welcoming Offices

Our offices are modern, clean and unique. When you walk in, you’ll feel the warm, homely atmosphere a funeral home should offer.

It’s a calm space where you can sit down, take your time and talk openly about your wishes, without feeling rushed or pressured.

Our Funeral Services

We offer a complete range of funeral services for people of every faith, culture and tradition. Whatever your family needs, we’ll guide you with patience and respect.

Burial Services

For many South African families, burial is a deeply meaningful way to honour a loved one and bring family and community together. We assist with every type of burial, whether in a local cemetery, a family plot or a rural homestead far from Gauteng.

Our burial services can include:

  • Collection and care of your loved one with dignity
  • Assistance with documentation, including the steps needed for the death certificate and burial order
  • Coffin and casket options to suit different budgets and preferences
  • Grave liaison, working with cemeteries to arrange the site and timing
  • Graveside setup, including tents, chairs, décor and lowering equipment
  • Hearse and family transport from our luxury vehicle fleet
  • Coordination on the day, so everything runs on time

If your family has specific preferences regarding the funeral service, such as night vigils, viewing at home or particular arrangements and timings, let us know. We’ll work closely with you to ensure the arrangements reflect your wishes and honour your loved one with dignity.

Cremation Services

Cremation is a growing choice for many families in Johannesburg and the West Rand, for personal, religious, environmental or practical reasons. We offer affordable cremations handled with the same dignity and attention as any burial.

You can choose the type of farewell that feels right:

  • A full memorial or funeral service before the cremation
  • A memorial service afterwards, giving relatives more time to travel
  • A private, simple cremation for families who prefer a quieter goodbye

We’ll also help you think through what happens to the ashes. Some families keep them at home, others scatter them in a meaningful place, and some inter them in a memorial garden. There’s no wrong choice, and we’ll support whatever you decide.

Memorial Services

Sometimes a memorial service is the most fitting way to celebrate a life, especially when relatives live far away or when a cremation has already taken place.

We can help you arrange a memorial at a church, hall, function venue or another meaningful location. Our team handles the setup, the programme, the flowers and the finer details, so the day feels beautiful and personal.

Repatriations

When someone dies far from home, families can feel helpless. Bringing them back may involve long distances, extra paperwork and coordination between regions or even countries.

We assist with repatriations, both within South Africa and across borders, so your loved one can be brought home and laid to rest where they belong. Our nationwide network makes this process smoother, because we often have trusted people on the ground at both ends.

If you’re facing this situation, call us as soon as you can. The earlier we start, the more smoothly we can manage the arrangements.

Exhumations

There are times when a family needs to move a loved one’s remains. You may want to reunite family members in one resting place, return someone to an ancestral home, or respond to land or cemetery changes.

Exhumations need great sensitivity, and they must follow the correct legal and municipal processes. Our experienced team handles them with care and respect, and guides you through each requirement so nothing is overlooked.

Other Services

Every family’s situation is unique. If you need something that isn’t listed here, please ask. We offer a variety of other services, and we’ll always do our best to find a way to help.

Added-Value Services: Peace of Mind for the Future

Our main purpose is to care for families when a loved one passes away. But we also know that much of the stress families face comes from not knowing what was wanted, or not being able to find important documents.

That’s why we offer two added-value services to our clients: a Free Testament and a secure Life File.

01Free Testament02Secure Life File
Your Free Testament

Many South Africans pass away without a valid will. When this happens, their estate is divided according to the law, not according to their wishes. This can cause delays, legal costs and painful family disagreements.

As a Mosaic client, you can receive a free basic testament (will). It’s a simple, practical way to make sure your wishes are written down clearly.

Your free testament can help you:

  • Name who should inherit your belongings and assets
  • Appoint an executor to manage your estate
  • Suggest a guardian for minor children
  • Record your funeral wishes, such as burial or cremation
  • Reduce uncertainty and conflict among loved ones

We’ll guide you through a short process to capture your wishes, then help you prepare your testament for signing. A will must be signed correctly in front of witnesses to be valid, and we’ll explain exactly how to do this.

Important: Our free testament is a basic will suitable for straightforward circumstances. For more complex estates involving trusts, businesses, property in multiple countries or significant assets, we can also assist through our partnership with Legacy Wealth Club. Terms and eligibility apply.

Your Mosaic Life File

When a loved one passes away, families often spend days searching for documents. Where is the ID book? Which insurer holds the policy? Is there a will, and where is it kept? Who should be contacted?

The Mosaic Life File solves this problem. It’s a secure, organised record of your critical information, ready for the moment your family needs it most.

Your Life File is kept in two places:

  • Securely stored on our cloud service, so it can’t be lost, damaged or misplaced
  • As a printed hard copy given to you, so you can keep it at home with your important papers
What Your Life File Can Include

You decide what goes into your Life File. Most clients include:

  • Personal details, such as full names, ID number and date of birth
  • Next of kin and emergency contacts
  • Funeral policy and insurance details, including policy numbers and providers
  • Your testament, or details of where your will is kept
  • Your funeral wishes, including burial or cremation, preferred venue, music, readings and customs
  • Medical aid and employer details, which may be needed for claims
  • Key contacts, such as your attorney, accountant, church leader or traditional leader
  • Personal messages or notes for your loved ones

For your safety, we never ask you to store passwords, PINs or banking login details in your Life File.

Why the Life File Matters

When the time comes, your family won’t have to guess. They’ll know who to call, which policies exist and what you wanted. Claims can be processed sooner, arrangements can begin straight away, and loved ones can focus on saying goodbye.

Your information is treated with strict confidentiality and accessed only by authorised people when it’s genuinely needed. You can update your Life File whenever your circumstances change, such as a new policy, a new address or a change in your wishes.

Planning Ahead With Mosaic

Some families come to us long before they need a funeral. They want to plan ahead, share their wishes and protect their loved ones from financial pressure.

If you’d like to plan ahead, we can help you:

Talk through your funeral wishes in a relaxed, no-pressure conversation

Explore funeral cover options that suit your budget and family

Set up your free testament and Life File so everything is in one place

Planning ahead is one of the most caring things you can do for the people you love. It means that, when the time comes, they’ll have clarity instead of confusion.
